one woman died in florida, a woman suffered a heart attack and emergency workers could not get to her in time. more than 300,000 people are without power. and just about an hour ago president obama issued an emergency warning. >> this is still a really dangerous hurricane where the potential for storm surge flooding and loss of life and severe property damage continues to exist and people continue to need -- >> lets go live to diane gallagher in jacksonville, florida. the massive storm moving up florida's east coast bringing with it heavy rain and more than 100 miles per hour winds. >> this is still a 120 miles per hour storm -- >> officials say the affects of matthew will be unlike any hurricane in decades and some

picture from philadelphia international airport, there are flight delays and cancellations but some airports in south florida are reopening. hurricane matthew caused 3,000 flights to be canceled over the last few days. now for the latest lets head over to melissa magee at the "action news" big board. >> reporter: we have the latest in from the national hurricane center and the center of matthew is still off the florida coast. you see it here with satellite 6 along with action radar the center of the storm is just to the north of daytona beach and south of jacksonville, florida. a category 3 storm winds sustained at 120 miles per hour. and this is the forecast path with matthew, it will move to the north-northwest at 12 miles per hour moving over or near the coast of florida late tonight and also into georgia. as we put this into motion by saturday morning we have the

storm down to a category 2 over the carolinas, the storm system because of a trough of low pressure over the mid-atlantic this wants to loop around the atlantic over the weekend and possibly head close to the bahamas early next week. storm surge is a big concern because what you have is all the feeder bands off the atlantic pressing on shore of the coast of the carolinas and georgia and down to florida. we would have a storm surge anywhere from 7 to 11 feet aboveground and that funneled the water from the atlanticic from the carolinas into georgia and into florida. rain is a big concern, future tracker 6 showing you through sunday we look at rain as little as 3 inches in west palm beach, as high as 10 inches there in wilmington. this is a big rain maker and sustained winds and storm surge.

he last struck at a pnc at the olney branch. and then on wednesday at 52nd street at market and chestnut and then td bank at 8th and walnut streets. the philadelphia parking authority says that starting today they start to enforce the law against illegal ride sharing services. one day after a judge order themmed to stop their ride sharing in philadelphia. drivers could face a 1,000 there's fine, they were able to operate during the democratic national convention but the temporary authorization has expired. a delaware mother is getting attention for doing the right thing, she was doing the right thing when she was put to the test. dann cuellar has the story of

all right right now hurricane matth hurricane matthew churning off the coast of florida. this is jacksonville beach. you can tell the rough surf and windy conditions there. the blurried vision from the camera. thousands evacuated as it moves closer to georgia and south carolina. melissa magee is tracking matthew and our weekend forecast that doesn't look too bad. >> no, today is a beautiful afternoon and the second half of the weekend looks nice. here is stormtracker 6 live double scan you see know issues with precipitation and high pressure stays in control and here is the picture outside.

temperature of 75. overnight tonight, increasing clouds and a shower is likely mainly west of philadelphia. but most spots stay dry into tomorrow afternoon. we drop to 59 with the southeasterly wind. here is future tracker 6 the rest of the today numbers are maxing out in the middle to lower 70s in our region. fast forward to saturday. a mostly cloudy start at 8:00 and numbers in the upper 60s, and we track the front, by 4:00 p.m. tomorrow we have the showers with us, and stay with us through the early evening hours, and this model not having the moisture clear the coast until midnight and that makes way for a second half of our weekend that looks nice and dry. down to the tropics keeping a close eye on hurricane matthew. the center of the storm off the coast of florida here, passing over daytona beach and to the south of jacksonville florida. the current path is 95 miles to

the south and east of jacksonville. a category 3 storm a major hurricane, winds sustained at 20 miles per hour. moving north-northwest at 12 miles per hour. and later tonight it moves over the coast of florida and also over georgia. by saturday morning it weakens to a potentially category 2 storm over the carolinas and the trough of low pressure over the atlantic, the storm curves back over the open waters into the weekend and more than likely making a curve southward to the bahamas as we get into early next week. a bit of a concern with storm surge and heavy rain especially across coastal sections of the carolina and georgia and down into florida. the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast back here at home partly sunny and nice one. high today of 75 degrees. on saturday mostly cloudy and a high temperature of 70 degrees, and saturday afternoon, into saturday night we track the that wet weather. mostly sunny and breezy and a
